Welcome to the Temple!

It is recommended that you begin with
EAT at the Table of the King
if this is your first journey with us.
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to seek Him in His temple.
Psalm 27:4
Your seat at the Table of the King has been reserved! We pray that
over the next few weeks you will find yourself so captivated by Your
Lord that, like King David, nothing else will satisfy like spending
time with your first Love.
This journey will lead you to the very heart of God through spending
time with Him in prayer and feasting on His Holy Word. You are invited
to a "fast"-- but for many of us who have never fasted we may not know
what kind of sacrifice He requires. The Lord desires mercy, not
sacrifice (Hosea 6:6). There is nothing you can give Him that He
doesn't already have. What He desires is to spend time with you His
precious child.
When you arrive at His table for each meal you will be given Scriptures
to EAT, a devotional to read, and a journal to record your thoughts and
prayers (simply click on the Devotional Menu to your right, for the
week you are one and then click for each day of your journey). For
some of us this may just be an appetizer. The Lord may lead you to dig
deeper into His Word; feel free to take the necessary time at each meal
to go where the Lord leads. You will find the more time you spend with
Him the more you desire to spend time with Him and your hunger for His
spiritual food will grow with each passing day.
To prepare for your personal journey with the Lord please read the
Welcome Letter (located under Dear Friend above) and Introduction (on
the menu bar above). Take some time, also, to read through the FAQ
section of this website and pray about the type of fast the Lord would
have you do. Allow Him to guide you this will be done in His strength
alone. These 40 days are about being available for Him to feed us. If
you do not feel called to give up your food at this time you can still
sit at His table and feast upon His Word. The Lord desires most to
spend time with you - He loves you so come just as you are!
Before you begin your 40 days fill out the Fasting Commitment (by
clicking on the scroll to the left). Share with the Lord what you feel
He has laid on your heart for this time of fasting and ask Him the
questions that are most pressing at this time. At the end of the 40
days you will have a wonderful testimony to the faithfulness of God who
says, if you seek me you will find me if you seek me with all your
heart! (Jeremiah 29:13)
You can dine with the Lord in the Temple any time you are led - one
day, one meal, one week. Join us as we pray for all believers to take
this step of faith and to surrender their schedules to pursue Jesus
Christ as their greatest priority so that through Him the whole Body
will be strengthened. If every member would submit to a season of
fasting and prayer the entire Body of Christ would be strengthened to
continue the work of building the Kingdom of God! May these next 40
days with the Lord, "astound (you) with wonder upon wonder!" (Isaiah
29:14)
Dear Heavenly Father,
I commit these next 40 days to
you. They are a gift from You because of Your overwhelming love and
desire to build an intimate and abiding relationship with me. I am so
undeserving and I realize I have nothing to offer You that you
dona[euro]t already have. But You desire me and You are calling me to
return to You with all my heart. I lay my heart at Your feet and ask
that You do the necessary surgery to repair what has been broken.
Empty me of myself and my selfish pursuits and fill me to the overflow
with Your amazing love. Restore me to the passionate pursuit of being
about my Father's business by becoming salt and light in this lost and
fallen world. When I find myself weak let me draw from Your strength.
When the enemy begins to attack help me stand firm. Help me not to
shrink back in retreat, instead help me to press in even deeper and
experience the fullness of knowing you as the Christ, my Savior and
Lord. Heal my heart Lord and bring healing to our land. You are my
confidence and my strength. All glory, and honor, and praise belong to
You!
I ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, the name that is above all names, Amen.
