Emotions change, but Christ is constant. Feelings are fickle, but faith is forever. <br> <br> Whenever you need additional encouragement, look to His Word for "an extra helping".&nbsp; Below you will find solace in the Scriptures for times when you are: Afraid, Angry, Anxious or Worried, Confused, Discouraged, Distant from God, Lonely, Sick, or Tired and Weak.&nbsp; Feel free to help yourself:<br> <br> <span style="font-weight: bold;">When You're Feeling Afraid<br> <br> </span>"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." (Psalm 23:4)<br> <br> "The LORD is my light and my salvation--whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life--of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1)<br> <br> "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its water roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging." (Psalm 46:1-3)<br> <br> "When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?" (Psalm 56:3-4)<br> <br> "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." (Proverbs 9:10)<br> <br> "Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe." (Proverbs 29:25)<br> <br> "Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man." (Ecclesiastes 12:13b)<br> <br> "Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation." (Isaiah 12:2)<br> <br> "Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, 'Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, He will come with vengeance; with divine retribution He will come to save you.' But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18)<br> <br> <span style="font-weight: bold;">When You're Feeling Angry<br> <br> </span>"A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel." (Proverbs 15:18)<br> <br> "A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control." (Proverbs 29:11)<br> <br> "An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins." (Proverbs 29:22)<br> <br> "Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord." (Romans 12:17-19)<br> <br> "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (James 1:19-21)<br> <br> <span style="font-weight: bold;">When You're Feeling Anxious or Worried<br> <br> </span>"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:4-7)<br> <br> "... I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:19)<br> <br> <span style="font-weight: bold;">When You're Feeling Confused<br> <br> </span>"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you." (Psalm 32:8)<br> <br> "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails." (Proverbs 19:23)<br> "I am the LORD your God, Who teaches you what is best for you, Who directs you in the way you should go." (Isaiah 48:17)<br> <br> "The LORD will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." (Isaiah 58:11)<br> <br> "I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps." (1 Thessalonians 2:4b)<br> <br> <span style="font-weight: bold;">When You're Feeling Discouraged<br> <br> </span>"Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God." (Psalm 43:5)<br> <br> " 'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,' declares the LORD. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.' " (Isaiah 55:8-9)<br> <br> "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)<br> <br> "The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light." Do not cast me from Your presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me." (Psalm 51:10-12)<br> <br> "The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on Him in truth." (Psalm 145:18)<br> <br> "Why do you say, O Jacob, and complain, O Israel, 'My way is hidden from the LORD; my cause is disregarded by my God'? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom." God sets the lonely in families..." (Psalm 68:5-6a)<br> "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:20)<br> "As I was with Moses, so I will be with you:&nbsp; I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Joshua 1:5b)<br> "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."&nbsp; (Deuteronomy 31:6; Hebrews 13:5b)<br> <br> <span style="font-weight: bold;">When You're Feeling Sick<br> <br> </span>"...'If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His eyes, if you pay attention to His commands and keep all His decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.' " (Exodus 15:26)<br> <br> "Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the LORD delivers him in times of trouble. The LORD will protect him and preserve his life; He will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes. The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed and restore him from his bed of illness." (Psalm 41:1-3)<br> <br> "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3)<br> <br> "Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones." (Proverbs 3:7-8)<br> <br> "My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to My words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body." (Proverbs 4:20-22)<br> <br> "But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)<br> <br> <br> "Heal me, O LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for You are the One I praise." (Jeremiah 17:14)<br> <br> " 'Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but He will heal us; He has injured us but He will bind up our wounds.' " (Hosea 6:1)<br> <br> "...'your faith has healed you.' He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up." (James 5:14-15a)<br> <br> "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.' " (Revelation 21:1-4)<br> <br> <br> <span style="font-weight: bold;">When You're Feeling Tired or Weak<br> <br> </span>"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:29-31)<br> <br> "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)<br> <br> " 'I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.' " (Jeremiah 31:25)<br> <br> " 'Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.'
